Aaliyah Dana Haaughton soared to notoriety after she released her first album Age Ain't Nothing More Than an Number in 1994. The album, released when she only had 15 years old it went Gold. This collaboration was highly inspired by R. Kelly, and put the singer in the spotlight. The year 1996 saw her release her sophomore album One In A Million with Jermaine dupri and Timbaland. The album featured the top-selling track If Your Girl Only was aware. Following the release of this work Aaliyah received international recognition for her performance as an R&B singer. She starred with the legendary martial artist Jet Li in the action-romance film Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver spotted her in an awards show. In 2002 she had the opportunity to be part of the film vampire Queen of the Damned which was an adaptation of Anne Rice's Anne Rice novel. She also starred in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. She received four nominations for Grammys, in 2001, 1999 and 2002. Aarti Mann.....................Aarti Mann also known as Aarti Majumdar is an American actor who is best known for her portrayal of Priya Koothrappali in the popular TV series The Big Bang Theory. The actress is the very first generation of Indian-American to be born in Connecticut. Mann is her stage name. Mann is derived from her marriage name Mankad. Mann utilizes Aarti Man as well as Aarti Mahumdar as her official name. While she started out with tiny film and television roles, her acting started becoming more popular in the turn of the century. Other notable works she has done are Leverage 2012, Suits 2013, and Grey's Anatomy 2017. In addition, she was a part of several commercials that included Volvo as well as other major auto companies. The actress currently resides at Los Angeles along with her wife, son and daughter. She also pursues her acting profession.
